Bear-tter Together!

The Bears of Sheffield sculpture trail brought to you by The Children’s Hospital Charity.
The money raised throughout donations, sponsored walks, bear-athons and everything in between will help Sheffield Children’s where it is needed most, which is currently a new Cancer and Leukaemia ward.

The trail is a collection of 60 giant bears and 100 mini bears scattered across the city of Sheffield forming a huge collective effort to raise important funds for the charity. Why bears you ask? The inspiration for the bear for the theme of the trail came from the Botanical Gardens bear sculpture and through The Children’s Hospital Charity’s mascot, Theo.

My Loose Ends bear is designed to inspire positivity, strength in diversity and togetherness. All of this together Makes for a unique collage of explosive energy and fun. Every penny really makes a difference. It goes to show that even the smallest act of kindness can create a wave of compassion and positive energy.

A big thank you to my sponsor, Morrisons and to the team at The Children’s Hospital Charity!

Teams from Morrisons stores around the city have come together to raise money to sponsor their bear for the trail!

Standing proudly in Woodseats, the bear marks years of fundraising, commitment and dedication to supporting The Children’s Hospital Charity. Sponsored thanks to fundraising from six Morrisons stores in total, Meadowhead, Broomhill, Hillsborough, Ecclesfield, Halfway and Catcliffe.

Staff member from the Ecclesfield store who knows just how important the fundraising is is David (pictured far left!) whose son, Oliver, has been receiving treatment for a brain tumour on the Cancer Ward at Sheffield Children’s.

David said, “Since Oliver’s diagnosis, my Morrisons store wanted to do everything they could to help. The effort has included lots of people from different stores, some of whom didn’t even know Oliver but raised money on his behalf. We are so grateful for people’s love, support and generosity.”

Inspiring Nails!

From the big, to the small… a collage that fits on your fingernail.
Cocoon Nails Training have been a wonderful neighbour to the bear and even produced these stupendous Loose Ends Bear-inspired nails!

Ashleigh from the Salon said:
“I saw the Bear on the way into work and just really loved it.
I previously worked for a courier company that dispatched some of the elephants for Herd of Sheffield so I was able to have involvement in that a few years ago and I’ve loved the idea ever since. I love anything artistic and creative and it’s even better it’s for such a good cause.”
