Kaleidoscope for Kilburn
Light Up Kilburn, Public Art Installation
Commissioned by Hive Curates, Kaleidoscope for Kilburn is a site-specific window installation derived from my Loose Ends collage works.
As part of the debut Light Up Kilburn festival – a night-based festival supported by Brent Council, One Kilburn and Love Camden, the artwork was backlit each evening for the duration of the festival.
Through the cut aperture in the work, performers from Kiln Theatre activated the piece with a unique live dance performance choreographed and facilitated by Anna Nicholls.
Captured through a kaleidoscopic lens, a unique collage springs to life — a fusion of our individual feelings, expressions, and energies colliding into a vibrant explosion of form. By celebrating the beauty in each element, embracing our uniqueness, and symbolising strength in unity.
A kaleidoscope comprises unique parts. As we twist, soar, and dance, these parts converge, morphing into something entirely distinct. This dynamic energy narrates the story of our shared human connection, forging a visual language for our ever-changing world.
